It is so PRETTY, that was my first impression when I walked into this new chic restaurant in Canggu, Bali. Famous for its healthy and boutique style restaurant, I discovered this place from Instagram as it is hyped up as one of the most popular places in the Canggu area.
Walking through the doors was like entering the perfect world to go crazy and spend countless hours on taking photos. Decorated with retro furniture against a pink theme, Folie Kitchen and pâtisserie has everything that instagrammers and foodies need, delicious modern French cuisine and a very instagramable setting!
I met the owner whom decorated this beautiful restaurant herself. Bunga is a mum, #ladyboss, entrepreneur and a wife of the Head Chef who happens to be a French background Chef with a real passion for cooking. Together they started their dream life, turning their wish of owning a restaurant into reality, and blissfully welcoming their lovely daughter, Lilo, who hangs around in the restaurant most times.
Food itself screams French but with an added personal twist from the Head Chef. It is often said that we eat with our eyes first. This is definitely an understatement when it comes to Folie. Using very stylish fine China tableware, the dishes were so wonderfully presented that it alone would leave you drooling! It was also my first time trying a Caesar salad with crispy chicken skin on top, Goddamn, I would actually fly back to Bali just for this, period.
Canggu has now become a must visit area so if you’re travelling there, make sure to drop by Folie for a cup of coffee and don’t forget to try their patisseries.
